Meet Diana Robbins, a recent UMD alumna now pursuing her graduate law degree.

Why she chose UMD:

The UMD campus attracted me right away. The unique structure of the school and the inviting campus quad caught my attention immediately.

At UMD Discovery Day, I made my decision. I was able to speak with the Chair of the Political Science Department, Michael Baum, and he gave me all the information I needed. The classes offered, the dedication of the professors, and the success of former students proved that UMD would be a great fit for me.

On November 18th, 2011 the College of Visual & Performing Arts Digital Media Department presented its Distinguished Alumni Award to Richard Fournier during the 19th Annual Digital Media Festival.

Since graduating from UMass Dartmouth Richard has become a character animator at the Academy Award winning Blue Sky Studios in Greenwich, Connecticut, working on titles such as Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Rio. Continue Reading »

…a UMASS education made all the difference in our careers.

This story is not just about me but also my twin sister. We both attended UMass Dartmouth when it was Southeastern Massachusetts University (SMU) from 1979 until 1983.

Rita graduated with a degree in Psychology. She has worked in human services for over 25 years. She is the executive director of Melmark New England, a school for serving children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders, brain injury or severely challenging behaviors. She also serves on the State of Massachusetts Autism commission.
